The Dance Band That Was In Demand- Recorded Live at Mr. Kites Camden and Waterville New Years Eve 1978 Imposters band, formed back in the 60’s, from 1968-1978. The band performed in night clubs, at state fairs and special events, from Jackman to Camden, Portland, Waterville, Augusta and towns throughout Maine. "We weren’t the best band in the state, but we had the best idea of how to be a band. We were not selling ourselves as musicians, we sold a sound. We had a clear, full, rightly constructed sound." - Rick Jones, Imposters Lead Vocals The Imposters New Years Eve 1978 includes: Interview with Rick Jones and Larry Thibodeau- State Cable 1997 Running on Empty Don't Take Away the Music C C Rider How Great Thou Art Only Takes a Minute Girl Baby Hold On 60's Mega Mix Lady Blue Heaven Must be Missing an Angel Eli's Coming Still the One
The Imposters not only had a sound, they also had excitement and a feel. The excitement was with a large group of people when the Imposters were going to play at the White Owl, or at The Club, in Waterville. You knew you were going to have a good time and the music would have everyone up and dancing from the very first song, and every song, all night. The feel was a good time, great dance music, and lots of fun with the band and the crowd. When you left the White Owl, you would check the calendar and see when the Imposters were playing again. You would reserve your table and couldn't wait for the next time. Even today when listening to the radio, a song will come on and you will say, "that's an old Imposters song". It brings you back to that feeling, the excitement, and great memories. This video will put you right back on the dance floor at the White Owl, in Fairfield Center, or the Waterville Armory, New Years Eve 1978. -Mark Rowe Imposters # 1 Fan The video on this DVD is 1978 technology. Home video cameras were known for smearing and ghosting. You'll notice that at first but as you watch the video, the content is so good , that you won't notice it. The audio is superb , recorded from a direct feed from the band's mixing board. See the Imposters Band on YouTube at maineimposters
